Family Pictures

by Susan on Oct.17, 2010, under Families

Last weekend, we took a little road trip to visit friends.  While we were there, I had the opportunity to photograph their family.  What a gorgeous day we had for pictures!

Senior Pictures – Emily

by Susan on Oct.16, 2010, under Young Adults

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure and honor of photographing a beautiful high school senior.  I used to teach at Emily’s school and I do believe that Emily was in 4th grade when we met.  Now she’s all grown up and beautiful, inside and out!

Life with the Littles – Attempt #1

by Susan on Sep.24, 2010, under My Family

I spend my days with the two little ones now that Alexis is fully entrenched in first grade.  I thought I’d take some pictures to document what our days are like, so I started the project off when I put Eli down for some time on the floor.  This, of course, has an immediate magnet-like effect for attracting Jubilee.  She loves Eli.  She is always asking to hold him and see him and kiss him and, basically, smother him with her affection.  He is not a fan of having his personal space invaded by a 2.5 year old, but he usually endures it valiantly.

My plans for documenting our day through photos ran into a bit of a problem sometime shortly after the previous picture was taken.  I forgot that Jubilee tends to run around minus her clothing quite often.  In fact, probably 90% of the time I come across an adorable photo op, I have to abandon the thought of blogging it because Jubilee is strutting her stuff a bit too much for public viewing.  I just do my best to make sure she is clothed before she leaves the house, and I consider that good enough.  So, sadly, this is the last of my kid photos for the day, and this one is only thanks to the Little People book that Jubilee was “reading” to Eli.  :o)

I did have to laugh when I went into the kitchen to make lunch, though.  Apparently Jubilee thought Eli’s puppy dog needed a ride in the swing.

And then, later in the day, I needed to lower the blinds (our family room windows face west and it gets a bit too sunny for an hour or two in the afternoon) and found this behind the couch:

I’m pretty sure this one is thanks to Alexis, though.  She is always making fun little hangouts for her various stuffed animals.  This one was hungry, apparently.

I’ll try my documentary project again someday (hopefully soon) when I feel like fighting the fight of keeping clothes on Jubilee.   LOL

Grandma Jan and the Great-Grands

by Susan on Sep.15, 2010, under My Family

Nick’s Grandma and Grandpa came up for a visit from Florida and we had a very improptu photoshoot with Grandma Jan, her two grandsons, and four great-grandkids.  I knew I only had a minute before one of the four kids started melting down (it was late and they were t-i-r-e-d) so I just have to ignore the fact that Nick’s head is growing out of Alexis’s, and be happy that we got a shot where no one was screaming or running away.  Haha.

And, since Eli was in a smiley mood, we grabbed one of just him with Grandma Jan.

The Orange Lollipop

by Susan on Sep.14, 2010, under Children, My Family

The orange lollipop was no match for Jubilee.  It kept her entertained for most of Alexis’s soccer practice.
